How Your Soul Can Help You Make Tough Decisions: A Simple Way To Connect With Your Higher Self

Working as an intuitive and therapist I help thousands of people make challenging decisions. During my sessions with clients, I often hear them utter the paralyzing mantra of confusion: “I don’t know.” Sure, maybe you don’t know the year that toothpaste was invented or which presidents had allergies; but if the question has to do with a life decision—if you should change jobs, partners, move, or go on a trip—you actually DO know.
My job as an intuitive is not to tell clients what I see and know but to help them consciously connect with the part of themselves that has all their own answers—their inner guru. My goal is that they experience their own unique and embodied feeling of truth and leave the session feeling clear and empowered.
We all have the ability to access that wise and clear awareness that knows exactly how to help us live our most beautiful and authentic life. I call that awareness “the Soul.” When we are stuck making a decision, it is because we are overwhelmed and hyper-aware of all the differing arguments. At these times we do not need to make a “pro and con” list or search for additional information. This behavior often makes us more stuck in heady perfectionism. What we actually need is to discover how to raise our consciousness to access the clear and potent information of the Soul.
A brilliant quote often credited to Einstein is: “You can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created.”
So how do we raise our vibration out of the analytical and critical mind to achieve Soul connection? It’s actually much simpler than you would think. First, you set the intention to connect to your Soul truth; then ask yourself this magical question: “If I pretended to know, what would I know?”
This simple but powerful prompt allows the analytical mind to take a break and allow the higher information from Soul to penetrate through.
Clients are often shocked by their newfound clarity when they allow themselves to pretend to know their own answers. This technique is really so simple and straightforward, it is easy to minimize its potentially life-changing results. Suddenly they are clear about the relationship they are in, the job where they feel stuck, or the health problem they are facing.
In my new book, Meet Your Soul: A Powerful Guide to Connect With Your Most Sacred Self, I cover common blocks to your Soul, as well as many simple, yet life-changing techniques, inquiries and meditations to help you connect with your inner wisdom. When you make decisions from the Soul’s perspective, you become blessed with the experience of living a beautiful, authentic and successful life. Try this simple technique with a challenging decision you are currently facing. I’d love to hear your results.

Enjoy International Women’s Day: in the US, it’s an hour shorter than every other day
Women of the world, today’s your day. Your one day out of 365, so enjoy it while it lasts.
But if you’re in the US, (not Arizona or Hawaii), it will be a bit shorter than the other days. Rejoice in your womanhood for your 23 hours, and if you follow the holiday’s logic, let the men have the remaining 8,746. Thanks, daylight saving time.
Here are some other areas where women—in America and elsewhere—are also short-changed:
The workplace
- It starts early. According to a survey of a number of OECD countries, boys are more likely to get hands-on work experience, preparing for their careers through internships and job shadowing.
- The White House says American women make 77% of what men make. The Pew Research center calculated that to be 84%. Either way, as Patricia Arquette pointed out during her Oscar acceptance speech: “It’s our time to have wage equality once and for all and equal rights for women in the United States of America.” Women are also the majority in low-wage sectors:
- A survey of 25,000 graduates of Harvard Business School (HBS) shows that while men and women have similar goals in their professional lives, their career outcomes are different. 59% of men say they find their work meaningful, only 49% of women do. What’s more, 57% of male HBS graduates hold senior management positions compared to 41% of the women.
- Americans still prefer to have male bosses.
Even women would rather work for a man than another woman.
Family life
- Most American women have two full time jobs: in 2011, 65% of women who have children under the age of six worked 35 hours or more a week.
- In South Korea, 22.4% of women left their jobs as a result of marriage, childbirth, or childcare.
- Unwanted pregnancies can be a major source of economic inequality, negatively affecting women’s education and income. One study found that they diminish the probability of participation in the labor market by 25%.
- 26% of American undergraduates are parents. 71% of them are mothers, and 43% are single mothers.
The corporate board room
- Women should obviously rule the financial world, because they make safer investments, are more risk averse, while men will compete even if they are more likely to lose. But, unfortunately this is not the case:
- Indian, Japanese and Portuguese companies all have less than 10% of women on their boards.
- If there’s any indication of how few women take top spots at American companies, this is it: men named John, Robert, William or Jamesoutnumber all the women who serve on corporate boards.
- Even when there’s some progress, it’s rarely satisfactory. Germany passed a law that would require companies to give 30% of their board seats to women, but the regulation is being criticized for not going far enough.
Politics
- Only 22% of US senators are women. In the House of Representatives, there are 66 women Democrats and 22 Republicans, about 20% of the chamber.
- As of January 2015, a mere 22% of all members of parliament around the world were women. Since 1995, this number has increased only 11.3%, according to the United Nations.
- Women also made up only 17% of all government ministers as of January 2014.
Hollywood
- Less than 5% of films released by six major studios in 2014 were directed by women.
- Internationally, there is a paucity of women with speaking roles and named characters in film.
- Less than 30% of writers for the 2011-2012 TV season were women.
World population
- Finally, women are outnumbered in the most basic sense: population. In 2013, there were nearly 60 million more men in the world than there are women. Even though in most countries women overtake men, the world’s most populous countries, China and India disturb the proportions.
Miley ‘feeling insecure’

Miley Cyrus reportedly acts over the top because she doesn’t think she’s “beautiful enough” to get attention in any other way.
The 22-year-old star has shocked the world with her antics over the last few years, which started with her cutting and bleaching her hair bright blonde and opting for a raunchy wardrobe.
“Miley confessed to friends that she overacts because she believes she’s not beautiful enough to get noticed in other ways, and feels insecure about her looks,” an insider told British magazine Closer. “She says she is determined to turn the way she feels about her appearance into something that gives her a place in the industry that’s based around your looks. Her friends reassured Miley that she’s beautiful and she doesn’t need to act up.”
And Miley needn’t feel worried about her appearance anymore with handsome boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger by her side, who she began dating last year.
Last month the singer attended Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Oscar Viewing Party looking cute in a modest Schiaparelli couture jumpsuit. However that didn’t mean she tamed down her behaviour as sources report Miley still tried to be the centre of attention at the event, despite not wearing her usual revealing ensembles.
“Miley tried to be wild at the party, speaking loudly and getting drunk. She usually wears very little clothing, but knowing she’d be among the most beautiful women in Hollywood, she refused to wear a dress, as she was anxious about how she’d look next to them,” the source added.
Apple is working on a waterproof iPhone, but with a huge twist

Apple has been lagging behind when it comes to creating a waterproof smartphone like Samsung and Sony have done in the past. 9to5Machas flagged a new patent that shows Apple is indeed working on making a waterproof iPhone, but not in the way any other smartphone manufacturer has done before.
FROM EARLIER: New report claims the iPhone 6s will give Apple fans something they’ve wanted for a long time
“Rather than make the casing waterproof, Apple’s patent describes a method of waterproofing internal components by integrating a hydrophobic coating with the electromagnetic interference shields used to protect sensitive electronics,” 9to5Mac explains. “This would be a better approach than waterproof casings, which can compromise the design of a phone.”
Although making a waterproof iPhone has never been one of Apple’s priorities, it is something that some Apple fans have said they’d like to see in the future. Right now there are several third-party cases you can buy to make your iPhone waterproof, as well as a crazy $30 spray that will do the same thing. However, none of these would be a substitute for an actual waterproof iPhone that you could dunk underwater without anything else added.
Interestingly, this patent comes at a time when Samsung just decided to ditch waterproofing as a key feature of its Galaxy S series of devices — unlike the Galaxy S5, you won’t be able to drop your Galaxy S6 into water and be confident it will survive.
Madonna: The artist has died

Madonna’s album began as an “invigorating and joyous” experience, but quickly evolved into “something quite crazy”.
The 56-year-old singer released her 13th studio record Rebel Heart today. It came out earlier than originally planned after 13 unfinished demos were leaked online, which she described as “artistic rape”.
She’s since been in a rush to wrap up the record and is still struggling to bounce back from the unauthorised release. Now she’s shared her opinion on how the internet plays a detrimental part in the music industry nowadays.
“I intended to think about things, choose things more slowly – the whole process. Then I got forced into putting everything out, and now I’m trying to catch up with myself,” she explained to the New York Times.
“What started out as an invigorating, life-enhancing, joyous experience evolved into something quite crazy. A strange artistic process, but a sign of the times. We’re all digital, we’re all vulnerable and everything’s instant – so instant. Instant success and instant failure. Instant discovery, instant destruction, instant construction. It’s as splendid and wonderful as it is devastating. Honestly, to me it’s the death of being an artist in many ways.”
Madonna first had the idea to release the album with two distinct halves, but in the end she put all the songs together so the moods are mixed.
“One aspect was going to be a representation of the more rebellious, provocateur side of me,” she added. “And the other side was going to be the more romantic, vulnerable side.”
Most recently attention has turned to Madonna’s fall at the BRITs in London, UK, last month during her performance of Living for Love. The routine was meant to see one of her dancers pull off her cape but upon realising it was tied too tightly, the star toppled backwards down a set of stairs and suffered whiplash.
At first she didn’t feel anything as she had so much “adrenaline pumping” and she admits that if she wasn’t in such good shape she would have had a lot more damage.
